• Book your air tickets well in advance after doing necessary research.
• Take Cash with you as opposed to a Credit card where you may go over budget.
• Take the time to see if there are nice places that you can explore within 50 miles of where you work or live.
• Travel within your country as it may be more expensive to travel to a country like Bhutan.
• Research lodging options such as hostels or guest rooms.
• Buy liquor from a liquor store as it may be cheaper than ordering it at a restaurant or the hotel mini bar.
• Always join your school college alumni on Facebook and check if any of your school or college mates is willing to host you as a guest. You can then return the favor at a later date.
• Ask your friends/family/alumni to suggest a good affordable destination before booking much advertised vacation spots like Caribbean or Thailand etc.
• Cruise vacations always are cheaper to buy on eBay if someone is trying to sell off his Cruise booking that for some reason..
• Carefully check the UN-used miles with your parents/siblings/in-laws as sometimes they can transfer their miles to you for airfare.
• Check the loyalty program you have with your credit card as sometimes booking hotel and car rental deals through them can get you a good deal.
• Before making a Hotel reservation ask the hotel if they offer a courtesy Cab/Taxi from the airport to the hotel rather than paying for one.
